YMGCR BOWLS CLUB
Tuesday we had pennant practice for Midweek with a good turnout of 54 players. The selectors placed players in teams and these teams will alter each week.
Wednesday social bowls had 48 players and the winning rink with a great score of +24 was Wayne Lowrie and our new stick bowler Bill Jenkins. Runners up with another great score of +22 were Greg Green and Bob Liddell and third prize went to Greg Fisher and Malcolm Miller with +20.
The jackpot was won by Greg Fisher and Malcolm Miller and the lucky numbers winners were Bob Brokenshire and Marie Morffew.
Saturday practice we had 58 players, the selectors once again picking the teams with the tricky winds and fast greens making the playing conditions very difficult.
Don’t forget we still have pennant practice on Thursday nights starting at 4 pm and also Sunday mornings starting at 10 am.
One of our most loved characters John “Maggott” Wallis who moved to Queensland a couple of years ago for health reasons, passed away. Our thoughts go out to his family. Tony Durkin has gone under the knife for a new hip. Give him a call and have a chat (he would love to talk about Geelong).
