YMGCR BOWLS CLUB
Wednesday Social Bowls.
28 bowlers participated on Wednesday the 2nd of August for the weekly Wednesday Social game. The weather was sunny, however if you happened to be on rinks 6 and 7 the shade from the surrounding trees made things decidedly chilly. All games were played on the west green which ran particularly well. The format changed for this week’s event. Instead of the usual 3 bowl pairs the format was the traditional 2 – 2 – 2 – 2 pairs game, with 2 games of 10 ends. The winners were the team of Vic Brincat (S) and Digger Smith (L)with two games won and plus 17 shots. Well done gents the change to the traditional pairs format obviously suited your game. Runners up were the pairing of Greg Green (S) and Norm Windebank (L) with two wins and plus 13 shots. In third place were the team of Peter McKay (S) and Neville Coleman (L) with two wins and plus 4 shots. The lucky numbers went to Frankie Lieberg $20.00 and Neville Coleman $10.00. The rolling jackpot did not go off and next Wednesday will be $150.00. Make sure you place your names on the Wednesday Social List for a chance at winning that $150.00. Just a get well soon message to YMGCR Bowls President Greg Fisher who is recovering from a hip replacement operation. Get well Greg and we look forward to seeing you around the greens.
