YMGCR BOWLS CLUB
Wednesday Social Bowls.
Reasonable weather were the conditions for the 24 players who played on Wednesday the 23rd of August. All games were played on the west green and the format was three bowl pairs. The winners on the day, with two games won and plus 15 shots, were the team of Albert Dodman (S) and Sue Evans (L). Running the winners to a very close second with two games won and plus 13 shots were Allan Goudge (S) and Bruce Irvine (L). One shot behind Allan and Bruce, in third place, with two games won and plus 12 shots, were the pairing of Mick Reilly (S) and Pam Dodman (L). The rolling jackpot wasn’t claimed. The lucky number winners were Vicki Withers and Albert Dodman.
Friday Social Bowls.
Fine weather greeted the 48 players who participated on Friday the 25th of August. Games were played on both the east and west greens. The format was the usual 2 – 4 – 2 pairs. The winners were the team of Les Wilson and Rob Lyle. Winners’ runners up were the combo of Malcolm Beer and Julian Jones. The loser’s consolation prize went to the pairing of Chris and Ian Price. The drink cards were won by Sue Evans and Bruce Irvine.
Joy Johnson Tournament.
YMGCR Bowls are again holding their Joy Johnson Memorial Ladies Pairs Tournament on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of September. There is a meet and greet the players function being held in the theatre lounge area on Friday the 1st of September. The function commences at 5.00 pm. Why not come along and meet some of the participating players, and perhaps stay on for the Friday night raffles. With some of the best lady bowlers playing in the tournament this is an ideal opportunity to watch some of the action on both Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of September.
