Wednesday Social Bowls Report.
The prospect of warm early spring weather saw 36 players enjoy the fine and sunny conditions on Wednesday the 6th of September. The playing format was 3 bowls pairs over two games. Both the west and east greens were free running and conducive to good bowling. The overall winners on the day were the team of Mick Reilly (S) and Doug McTier (L) with two games won and plus 7 shots. In second place were the pairing of Bill Butterworth (S) and Frankie Lieberg (L) with two games won and plus 3 shots. Those who went away with a good shot total but frustratingly could only manage a one game win were Tony Durkin (S) and Barb Birkett (L) with one game won and plus 22 shots. Keith Eade (S) and Ian Price (L) also had something of a Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde day with a one game win and plus 12 shots. Norm Windebank (S) and Ian Febey (L) couldn’t maintain the good form over the two games and ended the day with one win and plus 9 shots. The Rolling Jackpot was won by Anne Miles and Mick Stephens. The luck number winners were Barb Tennyson and Mike Klodinski.
Friday Social Bowls Report.
Extremely windy and wet conditions on Friday the 9th of September saw Friday Social Bowls cancelled; a pity but we are always at the mercy of the weather. Friday Social Bowls has been a success story this year. The Ladies Match Committee have done sterling work with Friday bowls and thanks must go to those ladies who make up the Match Committee and give their time so generously on Fridays. They are Marie Morffew, Liliana Borwick, Vicki Withers, Lynne Baxter, and Carolyn Boston. Thank you one and all ladies. Until next week good bowling.
