YMGCR BOWLS CLUB

Wednesday Social Bowls.

32 players partook in Social Bowls on Wednesday the 27th of September. The format for the day was 3 bowl pairs over two games of 12 ends. Fine weather and a light breeze greeted the players and games were predominantly played on the east green, with rink six being brought into play on the west green. Streeting the field in first place were Col Withers (S) and Kurt Bleckwehl (L) with two game wins and an emphatic plus 34 shots. In second place with two strong game wins and a plus 20 shot total were Warren Snow (S) and Norm Windebank (L). In third place were the team of Garry Hart (S) and Jim Cline with two game wins and plus 10 shots. Filling fourth place were the combo of Gary Presnell (S) and Robyn Forge (L) with two games won and plus 6 shots. The Rolling Jackpot was claimed by Garry Hart and Jim Cline. Lucky number winners were Robyn Forge and a visiting player Doug Tamburrini.

 

Friday Social Bowls.

Friday Social Bowls, held this year on Grand Final Eve saw the usual good turnout of bowlers, for the traditional format of 18 ends of 2 – 4 – 2 pairs. Warm weather was the formula for the day and all players enjoyed the pre–Grand Final hit out. Winners on the day were the combo of Les Wilson and Ian Febey. Second place went the team of Neil Loveridge and Doug Wheeler. The first Consolation Prize went to Danny McNeill and Lee Schwertzl. The second Consolation Prize of two drink cards went to Neville Coleman and Carolyn Boston.

 

Mid- Week and Saturday Pennant Practice.

Practice, so they say, makes perfect, and with those words in mind, Mid- Week and Saturday Pennant Practice for the upcoming season has commenced. Mid- Week practice is being held every Monday afternoon at 3.00 pm and Saturday Pennant Practice is being held every Thursday afternoon commencing at 3.00 pm. All pennant players should attend. This is an ideal opportunity to hone our skills and after practice enjoy each other’s company in the clubhouse. Until next week good bowling.
