New Uniforms.

YMGCR unveiled their new playing kit on Saturday the 28th of October, and it seems that the overall reaction to the new uniforms has been positive. Thank you to the uniform subcommittee, among whom are Marie Morffew, Vicki Withers and Ray Brown, for your work on the uniform project and rollout.

Weekend Pennant.

There was an added element of interest in the A1 match where YMGCR hosted Corowa RSL who have made a return to the A1’s. Scott and Ken Widdison and Stewart McNiell whom all made such an invaluable contribution to YMGCR’s A1 side over the last few seasons have moved to Corowa RSL and this was to be their first outing against YMGCR since their transfer to Corowa. At the end of a highly competitive game, played in good spirit YMGCR prevailed with a win of the closest margin, 77 shots and 12 points to Corowa RSL 76 shots and 6 points. Literally winning the day for YMGCR were the rink of Micheal Vaughan (L), Malcolm Beer (2), Andy LeFevre (3) and Jim LeFevere who won convincingly 30 shots to 14 shots. They were the only winning rink, however the other 3 rinks contributed by staying close to their opponents on the scoreboard.

Our A2 side hosted Benalla and convincingly put the visitors to the sword 103 shots, 16 points to Benalla’s 77 shots and 2 points. Winning in fine style were the rink of Ross Lloyd (L), Peter Lidgerwood (2), Ray Brown (3) and Ian Keat (S), with a win of 27 shots to 17 shots. Also winning well were Doug Wheeler (L), Col Withers (2), Vic Brincat (3) and Neil Loveridge (S) who won 25 shots to 16 shots. Also rising to the fly were the rink of Rhonda Irvine (L), Trevor Kilpatrick (2), Rob Lidgerwood (3) and Allan Goudge (S) who won 30 shots to 17 shots.

The A4’s made to the longish journey to Yackandandah and after being beaten 84 shots and 18 points to YMGCR’s 54 shots 0 points the journey home would not have seemed any the shorter. An honourable mention has to go the rink of Jill Lamson (L), Chris Horne (2), Pam Dodman (3) and Doddy Dodman (S) who kept their opponents on their toes all day 16 shots to Yackandandah’s 18 shots.

Our B2 side were entertained by Wodonga, and perhaps the show wasn’t YMGCR’s liking as they lost 45 shots and 2 points to Wodonga’s 75 shots and 12 points. Congratulations to YMGCR’s winning rink of Jodi Powell (L), Sue Evans (2), Noel Millar (3) and Keith Eade (S) who won 19 shots to 18 shots. At the end of the season every rink win is invaluable, so well done Jodi, Sue, Noel and Keith. Until next week, good bowling.
