Bloke’s Day on Oaks Day.

YMGCR Bowls hosted their annual Charity Tournament, Bloke’s Day on Oaks Day on Thursday the 9th of November, with all monies raised going to important research into Prostate cancer. Winning the tournament were the home team of Greg Green, Andy Lefevre and Jim Lefevre. Second place went to another YMGCR rink comprising Vic Brincat, Ian Keat and Neil Loveridge. Great tournaments like this don’t happen by accident and with this in mind we would like to extend a big thank you the band of volunteers who made the day the success it deserved to be.  Donating their time so generously were Norm Windebank, Rob Hummel and Liliana Borwick who did a marvellous job on the BBQ. Also assisting with the food preparation were Barb Tennyson, Pam Dodman and Jill Lamson. Greg Fisher ensured that everyone didn’t go thirsty and manned the drinks stall. Thank you also must go to Rhonda Irvine, for selling the raffle tickets. The Men’s Social Committee also helped; thank you to Danny McNeill, Les Balfour and Gavin Borwick. Also donating their time and making a valuable contribution were Kerry Kinane, Albert Dodman and Ian Price.
