Wednesday Social Bowls.

Sunny weather yet again was the order of the day where 12 players presented for Social Bowls last Wednesday. All games were played on the east green where the orientation for players was east / west rather than the traditional north / south. Due to the light numbers, there were two games of three bowl pairs and one game of triples.  There were no two game winners, so the winners were team of Kurt Bleckwehl (L), and Julian Jones (S), with one drawn game and a game won. Kurt and Julian came home with a shot total of plus 15 shots. Runners up were the pairing of Ross Lloyd (S), and Noel Millar (L). Ross and Noel drew their first game and won their second with a shot total of plus 13. The Lucky Number winner was Doug McTier.

 

Wednesday Social Bowls New Format.

The format for Wednesday Social Bowls changes this Wednesday the 10^th of July. It will consist of one game of three bowl pairs played over 22 ends. We emphasise that single entries are still welcome. The winners will be decided by a random draw of winning sides in the clubhouse after the game. There will also be a Lucky Number Raffle draw. The cost is $1.00 per square, so remember to bring along a few gold coins for a chance to win.

 

Friday Social Bowls.

Another strong showing of 36 players saluted for Social Bowls last Friday. Again, it was good to see so many of our friends from Tungamah and Yarrawonga playing. Games were played on both greens in the north / south orientation. The winners, from Yarrawonga Bowls Club, were Shane Maddox and Ray Butler. Winners Runners up were Pam and ‘Doddy’ Dodman. The Consolation Prize went to the team of Carolyn Boston and Neville Coleman.

 

Saturday Pennant Practice Matches.

Name sheets for Saturday Pennant Practice Matches are now on the Bowls Notice Board. As we mentioned last week, practices matches have been organised for Saturday the 14^th of September, at home, vs Benalla, Saturday the 21^st of September, again, at home, vs Cobram. At intra club match will be held on Saturday the 5^th of October. Lists are also on the Boards, for those intending to play Saturday and mid-week. The Bowls Committee have to submit to the Ovens and Murray Region, the number of sides that YMGCR are entering on the 15^th of July. If you are playing pennant, and haven’t placed your names on the lists, please do so, as soon as is practicable as an assist to the Selectors. Until next week, good bowling.
