Wednesday Social Bowls Report.
Last Wednesday the 18th saw 32 players turn out for Social Bowls. The players enjoyed fine cool weather and again, were met by free running greens. Sharing first prize of $120.00 and a drink card each were the team of Robyn Forge and Neville Coleman. The winners’ runners up prize of $60.00 was shared by Barb Tennyson and Mick Reilly. The losing rink prize of $40.00 was won by the combination of Sue Evans and John Bell. The first Lucky Number prize of $20.00 was claimed by Chris Horne, and the second Lucky Number prize of $10.00 went to Greg Fisher. There is still room for further entries each Wednesday, so why not enter you side on the entry sheets at the Bowls Office. Visitors from surrounding clubs and further afield are welcome. Friday Social Bowls Report.
A strong turnout of 44 players shaped up last Friday and they enjoyed the quickish greens and fine weather. It was great to see a strong contingent of players from Glenroy Bowling Club having a good time, and it was good to see one of the visitors, John McCarron, from Glenroy and Jimmy Lefevre take out the winners first prize of $160.00. The second winners prize of $100.00 went to the pairing of Michael Crawford and Peter Verlado. The losing rink consolation prize of $70.00 was shared by the combination of Neville Coleman and Carolyn Boston. The first Lucky Number prize of $20.00 and a drink card was won by Sue Evans. The second Lucky Number prize of $15.00 was won by Greg Fisher. As with Wednesday Social Bowls, there is still room for further entries each Friday, so why not enter you side on the entry sheets at the Bowls Office. Sunday Funday Bowls.
In last week’s report we mentioned that Sunday Funday Social Bowls was commencing this week. The first day’s play saw a solid turnout of 28 players shape up for the inaugural Sunday. All players had a lot of fun, and it was good to see a number of our established bowlers team up with our new bowlers. Our new players should find the tips passed on from our experienced bowlers invaluable when the new bowling season arrives. The first prize of $40.00 went to Paul Bianco and Ron Lamson. The second prize, also $40.00 went to Greg Green and David Irvine. The first losing rink consolation prize of $20.00 was won by the team of Greg Fisher and Chris Morrissey. The second losing rink consolation prize of $20.00 was claimed by the team of Anthony Clota and Tom Kindred. The first Lucky Number raffle prize of $15.00 was won by Ron Lamson. The second Lucky Number raffle prize $10.00 was won by Michael Szabo. There is still room for further entries for upcoming Sundays, so place your names on the entry sheets at the Bowls Office.
