Wednesday Social Bowls Report.
Last Wednesday’s fine weather saw 32 players turn out for Wednesday Social Bowls. Both greens were in play and were running well. As usual the nominated 3 bowl pairs was the format and proves very popular with participating players. Claiming first prize were the team of Karen Bianco and Gary Seamer who shared $100.00 cash and a drink card each. It’s good to see our new members amongst the prizes. The second winning rink were the combo of Barb Tennyson and Mick Reilly who shared $80.00. Anyone considering sharing a ticket in Powerball should consider including Barb, or Mick as they seem to have more than their fair share of luck. The losing rink consolation prize was shared between Kurt and Brad Bleckwehl, who shared $30.00. The first Lucky Number prize of $20.00 was won by Bob Brokenshire, and the second Lucky Number prize of $10.00 was won by Les Wilson.
Friday Social Bowls Report.
40 bowlers enjoyed the fine weather last Friday for the weekly nominated pairs game of 2 x 4 x 2 played over one game. Our greens are now well and truly into their winter dormancy and are running very, very well, and the players took full advantage of the conditions where close bowls were the order of the day. Coming first and sharing the top prize of $140.00 were the team of Suzy Beca and Ian Febey. Second prize of $100.00 was shared by the pairing of Doug McTier and Andy LeFevre. The losing rink consolation prize of $60.00 was shared by the team of Sue Evans and Anthony Clota. The first Lucky Number raffle prize of a drink card and $25.00 was won by Norm Windebank and the second Lucky Number raffle prize of $20.00 was won by Di Day.
Sunday Funday Bowls Report.
A change in format from single entry 2 x 4 x 2 pairs to 2 bowl triples greeted the 24 players who enjoyed the fine, yet cool weather on Sunday. The change in format was made to introduce our new players to the concept of 2 bowls each player per end, which is what the new players will be confronted with during the pennant season. As is now tradition the afternoon was kicked off by the draw to the spider competition where the prize of a tube of spray chalk was won by novice player John Greenway. Well done, John. The experienced player prize for drawing closest to the spider, of $15.00 was won by Greg Fisher. Nice bowling, Greg. The first winning rink prize of $60.00 was won by the team of Ron Lamson, Hayden Beca and John Greenway. The second winning rink prize of $45.00 was shared by Judy Leeson, Diane Bianco and Julian Jones. Rounding out a profitable day was John Greenway who won the first Lucky Number raffle prize of $15.00. The second Lucky Number prize of $10.00 was won by Michelle Thomas. Until next week, good bowling.
