We have definitely reached the pointy end of the Bowls season. Events at Club, Pennant and Region level are reaching their peaks, and YMGCR bowlers have a busy time ahead of them. Our great facilities have also been highlighted many times for Regional Events and Pennant Finals.
Club / State Events
Men’s 21 Up … The finalists of the Men’s 21 Up are Garry Sanders and Don Ellis.
Men’s Pairs … The first semi-finalists for this event are Dougie Wheeler and Steve Gann who defeated John Mc Gough and Norm Windebank.
Ladies B Grade Championship … will commence on Thursday, February 27th. Closing date for entries is 1.00pm on Wednesday, February 26th.
Mixed Pairs … will commence on Sunday, February 23rd. Closing date for entries is Friday, February 21st
Ovens and Murray Ladies Fours …unfortunately our YMGCR girls Laureen Smith, Claire Sanders, and Anne Miles, and Wodonga’s young gun, Kylie Whitehead, were beaten on the very last end of their Final match. The composite team was skipped by Judy Bartel from Kiewa. So close!
Barefoot Bowls
