Weekly Report July 10

Wednesday social bowls had a field of 20 players who braved the elements in our “Dash for Cash” day.  The winners with 38 points were Danny McNeill and a visitor from Portarlington Jack Taylor.  Runners up were the team from Yarrawonga Peter McKay and Wayne Barnsy with a score of 35 points.

Friday social had a good field of 24 players.  The winners for the day were Greg Green and Ian Doust and the runners up were Pam and Doddy Dodman.

Well done to Anne Miles who played in the Victoria Ladies side who played against Tasmania down at the Karingal Bowls Club last week.  She performed very well (playing third) with her rink winning 4 out of the 5 tests and the ladies won the series 4 wins to 1.

While on the topic of Victorian selections, I’m rapt to tell you Claire Sanders and Laureen Smith have been chosen in the Over 60’s team to play NSW at Moama in early August.  Well done girls you thoroughly deserve this.  Both girls have played at a high level for a long time and let’s get over to Moama and support them.  Just to show how strong the O&M region is, we have a further two ladies in the 12 lady team (Mary Tragardh from Yackandandah and Sharon Warfe from Benalla).
