YMGCR BOWLS CLUB
Friday Social bowls had a field of 36 players and the winners were Ian Morffew and Sue Evans. Runners up were Lyn Baxter and Bill Jenkins and 3rd went to Tony Durkin and Trever Kilpatrick.
Quite a few of our 21 up and 100 up games were played on the weekend. First round in both championships needs to be played on the 13th October.
Our first practice match against Cobram will be on the 1st October and rinks will be picked on Thursday night at 3.00 pm on September the 29th.
There is a list for our start of the season BBQ on the 6th October.
Three of YMGCR ladies are heading to the Gold Coast on the 1st October to play for Victoria in the Over 60’s and Open national events.
Laureen Smith & Claire Sanders are representing Victoria in the over 60’s and Anne Miles is representing Victoria in the open side. Victoria will play all the other states over four days respectively. Following on from the national sides Anne Miles will team up with Ian Brimblecombe from Wangaratta to play off for the mixed pairs Australian title at Broadbeach on the 11th October. This shows how powerful our ladies are and we wish them all the best.
