YMGCR BOWLS CLUB
Wednesday Social Bowls.
Bowlers are relishing the new Wednesday Bowls format of one game of 22 ends of nominated three bowl triples, as witnessed by the strong turnout of 32 players last Wednesday the 7th of August, and surprise, surprise, they are also enjoying the increased prize money on offer. Both greens were used for the day’s play and the weather was fine and sunny. The day’s winners were the team of Gavin Borwick and Bill Hidson. The Winners Runners up were the side of Lynne Baxter and Liliana Borwick. The Lucky Losers were the combo of Don Tipping and Noel Millar. The Lucky Number winners were Chris Price and Julian Jones. As we have mentioned before, single entries are still welcome as are visitors from surrounding clubs and further afield, it’s as easy as placing your names on the entry sheets at the Bowls Office. Visitors and single entries and visitors remember to place a contact telephone number along with your name.
Friday Social Bowls.
Fine weather, with a hint of spring in the air last Friday greeted the 36 bowlers who turned out for the Friday Social Format of one game of 18 ends of 2 x 4 x 2 nominated pairs. We are seeing players from Tungamah, Yarrawonga and Club Mulwala Bowls Clubs participating, and we extend our thanks to those visiting bowlers for supporting our Friday Social Bowls Day. The winners were Nicole and Wade McPherson, from Club Mulwala. Making it a clean sweep for Club Mulwala in the winner’s prizes were Mal Beer and Jeff Mitchell who won the Winners Runners up prize. The losing side Consolation Prize went to the team of Phil Pettit and Tom Wilson from Tungamah Bowls Club. The Lucky Number winners were Mick Reilly and Ian Morffew.
YMGCR Club Competitions.
Entry sheets are now on the Bowls Office notice boards for ladies and men’s club competitions. So, if you are intending to enter club competitions this year, please place your names on the lists promptly which will enable the Match Committees to get the draws out sooner rather than later.
Blokes Day on Oaks Day.
