Weekly Report August 02

YMGCR BOWLS CLUB

This week the Mulwala crew had 13 players on Wednesday for their social bowls with winners being Ian Cumming and one of our new bowlers in Terry Baxter.  Runners up were Anne Miles and Terry’s wife Lyn.   Good to see some new talent coming through.

On Sunday there were 6 people at the coaching day and Anne was saying that they are improving and really enjoying their bowls. Last week, with a touch of jealousy,  I said “The champs from Yarra” and then I realized that both our ladies and men’s singles current champions both reside in Mulwala.  Oh well, I got that one wrong.  (Won’t be the last).

Some of our newer bowlers in our lower divisions are really showing a lot of improvement.  Watched a few of them on Monday at Yarrawonga and boy they are really showing that with practice and coaching they are ready to take the next step. They will certainly be pushing for selection in the higher grades in the pennant season and that’s what the club needs.

Last week one of our bowlers put his phone on his wife’s car bonnet, and of course she drove off to do the shopping and it magically disappeared.  So if any one sees a phone around the Bunnings vicinity on the highway, please call Ray Brown on his new phone.

With the boarder being closed, the players from YMGCR would like to thank Yarrawonga Club for making our members feel welcome; but we must remember we all do things differently.  (So BROWNIE please put your name on the card….. didn’t have a good week).
