YMGCR BOWLS CLUB

Wednesday Social Bowls.

28 players participated last Wednesday for social bowls, where both greens were in use and play was east west. As is now the formula for Wednesday Bowls there was one game of 22 ends of 3 bowl nominated pairs. A variable and strong westerly wind combined with greens that were not that fast made for a challenging days play. Overcoming the conditions were two visitors from Leopold, on the Bellarine Peninsula, Tracey and Mick Wills who took home the first prize. The Winner’s Runners up prize went to the team of Greg Fisher and Chris Horne.  The Lucky Losers prize went to the pairing of Barb Tennyson and Mick Reilly. Mick Reilly rounded out a profitable day by winning the first Lucky Number Prize. The second Luck Number prize was won by one of our visitors from Leopold, Mick Wills, congratulations on a profitable visit Mick and Tracey. Just a reminder that along with the change of format for Wednesday Social Bowls the prize money on offer has seen a considerable increase. Single entries are still welcome as are visitors form surrounding clubs and further afield. Friday Social Bowls.

40 players took advantage of the fine weather and free running greens for Social Bowls last Friday the 30^th of August. Both greens were full of bowlers enjoying the days play. The format, as is usual for Friday Social was 2 x 4 x 2 nominated pairs. The winners were the side of Ron Lamson and Peter Verlardo. The Winners Runners Up prize went to the team of Lynne Baxter and Mick Reilly, who has enjoyed a profitable week at YMGCR. The Lucky Losers prize went to the team of Denise Trubiano and Bill Hidson. The Luck Number 1^st prize went to Shane Maddox. The Lucky Number 2^nd prize went to Mick Reilly. Until next week, good bowling.
