YMGCR BOWLS CLUB
Wednesday Social Bowls.
Steady rain saw last Wednesday’s Social bowls cancelled. However, Social on a Wednesday will continue throughout the Pennant Season. The revised format, which has seen a change to nominated 3 bowl pairs over one game of 22 ends, has proved very popular with bowlers. Name sheets are always up on the bowls office notice boards, so place your names on the list early in the week, to secure your place in the field. Single entries are still welcome, as are visitors form surrounding clubs, and bowlers from further afield. If you are placing your name on the list as a single entry, or as a visitor, please provide your telephone number as well as your name.
Friday Social Bowls.
It’s been another successful season of Friday Social Bowls, and last Friday’s game brought the season to a close. This is an opportunity to thank those hard working ladies, who have made Friday Social so popular with YMGCR bowlers, and players from surrounding clubs. Our thanks go out to Vicki Withers, Marie Morffew, Jill Lamson and Lynne Baxter.
24 players participated on the final Friday, and the weather was kind to all. The winners were Jill and Ron Lamson. The consolation prize went to Greg Green and Andy LeFevre. The Lucky Number prize went to Greg Fisher. We look forward to seeing you all for the resumption of Friday Social bowls next autumn.
The Social Scene.
Opening Day for YMGCR Bowlers will be held this Sunday afternoon the 6th of October. The afternoon commences at 1.00pm with the opening of the greens, this will be followed by a social game of bowls. After the game there will be nibbles and drinks served in the club. We would ask all bowlers to be in club uniform for the afternoon. A list is up at the bowls office for those intending to come along, please place your names on the list as soon as possible to assist with catering.
The Social Sub – Committee are putting together a Christmas hamper to be raffled over the Festive Season. All those YMGCR bowlers, are encouraged to donate to the hamper. Donations do not necessarily have to follow the Christmas theme. Until next week, good bowling.
