Wednesday Social Bowls Report.
Last Wednesday, the 22nd of July saw another solid muster of 40 players for the week’s edition of social bowls. As usual, the format was 3 bowl nominated pairs played over one game of 22 ends. Both greens were in play and the direction of play, for this week, was north – south. Greeting the judges in first place were Noel and Nicole Smith who played against Kurt and Brad Bleckwehl on rink 4. Nicole and Noel shared $90.00 prize money and a drink card each.
The runners up prize was won by the team of Trevor Kilpatrick and Peter Verlardo who shared $50.00 prize money. Trevor and Peter’s opponents on rink 5 were Greg Green and Garry Seamer.
The losing rink consolation prize, of $20.00 cash was shared by the combo of Allan Goudge and Neil Loveridge. Allan and Neil’s opponents, on rink 8 were Mick Reilly and Vin Slattery.
Concerning the Lucky Number raffles; it was a clean sweep for Chris Morrissy who won both prizes of $25.00 and $10.00.

Friday Social Bowls Report.
Last Friday was a red-letter day in more ways than one. Firstly, the day was a sellout, where all 14 rinks were in play and a full roster of 56 players participated. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly it was Doug McTier’s 97th birthday. Doug, of course, played as he usually does.
After the day’s play bowlers were invited to repair to the bistro to celebrate Doug McTier’s birthday. Hot savouries were served and a very large and indulgent looking birthday cake, arranged by Jill and Ron Lamson, was served to players after happy birthday was sung and Doug had cut the first slice of cake.
Then prizes for the day’s games were awarded: Playing on rink 14, affectionately known by some as Siberia, presumably due to its distance from, well, anywhere, were the day’s first prize winners Jo Woods and Graeme Firth who played against Gavin Borwick and Dave Charrington. Jo and Graeme shared $100.00 cash and a drink card each.
The runners up prize was won by Di Day and Les Spencer who played Robbie Wickham and Ros Clark on rink 9. Di and Les shared $80.00 for their win.
The losing rink consolation prize of $40.00 was shared by the team of Pam and Doddy Dodman whose opponents on rink 13 were Phil Pettit and Noel Loft.
The first Lucky Number raffle prize of $30.00 was won by Dave Charrington and the second Lucky Number raffle prize of $20.00 was won by Liliana Borwick.

Sunday Funday Social Bowls Report.
24 players didn’t let Sunday’s overcast weather spoil this week’s edition of Sunday Funday Social Bowls. As is now usual, there were two games of single entry pairs played over 7 ends.
The prizes for this week’s draw to the spider were a selection of lollies and $5.00 and a bottle of wine, which was kindly donated by Jill and Ron Lamson. The first prize winner was Sue Beca and the second closest bowl to the spider belonged to Chris Spencer, well done Chris, who is from Nagambie.
The first prize winners were the team of Barb Tennyson and Craig Jordan who played Wendy Pump and Karen Bianco on rink12. Barb and Chris shared $50.00 prize money.
The winner’s runner up prize, of $30.00 cash was shared by the combo of Ron Lamson and Barry Atkins who played against Nicole Smith and Terry Cartwright on rink 5.
This week’s losing rink consolation prize of $10.00 cash was shared by Nicole Smith and Terry Cartwright whose opponents were Ron Lamson and Barry Atkins.
The Lucky Number raffle prizes of $20.00 and $10.00 cash were won respectively by Norm Moule and Deb Rodgers.
