YMGCR BOWLS CLUB

This week we had our three gun ladies representing O&M in the Victorian State Championships at Bendigo.  They lost their first game in the Fours by one shot to the eventual winners.  Anne then joined Wangaratta’s Ian Brimblecombe and they won the mixed pairs. (Our girl played fantastic bowls ….if you want to watch the game, check it out on YouTube).  Then the three amigos got together to play in the final of the triples.  They made it to the grand final and after 16 ends the scores were level, but they uncharacteristically there dropped a 4 and that was the ball game.  Anne will now travel to the Gold Coast later this year to represent Victoria.

Last Wednesday we held our first “Dash for Cash” concept and we had 24 players.  The winners were Les Wilson and Chris Horne.  Runners up were the Yarrawonga combination of Peter McKay and Robbie Wickham.

Friday Social had 32 players with the winners being Tony Durkin and Billy Butterworth.  Runners up were Norm Windebank and Barb Tennyson and third went to Ray Irvine/Ian Doust who drew with Gary Presnell/Les Spencer (the boys should have played an extra end……not very bright). There will be no bowls next Friday.

Don’t forget our AGM on the 29th May at 10am followed by the Presentation of awards at 12.00 and PUT your name on the list for catering numbers.
